Every October-November, there's heavy freight traffic in Western Macedonia
region of the Greek rail network, due to the crops of sugar beets.
The sugar beets have to be transported by rail from the Komanos station (which
serves as the main concetration point) to either Platy or Larisa, towards
the sugar factories.
MLW A457 waits for a passenger train in Veroia station before proceeding towards Platy with a mixed load of hoppers loaded with sugar beet and tank cars.

The assistance train consisted of A-456 (MLW), a crane and service coaches passes the Gorgopotamos bridge, near Lianokladi on July 22nd, 2001. The assistance train is used to restore derailments or major track failures.

OSE train 613 crosses Alexandroupolis town, en route to Thessaloniki.
Note the MLW A-457 in front! A very unusual thing, since 1997 when new adtranz engines, took all passenger duties.
Later in Komotini station the A-457 left the 613 train to help a freight one to climb on mountains of Evros
