London Brighton and South Coast Railway LBSCR Radial Tank No 473 'Birch Grove'
was built in 1898. It is the only surviving example of a design by Robert Billington and known as
a radial tank due to the radial axle beneath the cab. She is currently visiting the IoW from the Bluebell Railway.

0-6-2t 'Birch Grove' is currently on loan from the Bluebell Railway and is spending part of the Summer on the Isle of Wight.
One remarkable feature of this loco is that she retains her original boiler number 891 fitted new in July 1898. It had been used by various other
Brighton Tanks before being refitted in 1960. She is pictured at the delightfully rural western end of the line Wootton.
