LMS 'Duchess of Sutherland' at Crewe works, this locomtives now has a royal crest above the nameplate that was placed their to commemorate the haulage of Her Majesty the Queen during the Golden Jubilee celebrations, it hauled the Royal Train on a visit to North Wales. Visitors to London's Victoria Station do not come any more unusual than this as 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' makes to our knowledge the first appearence of a Stanier Coronation Pacific to the terminus. With steam still rising she makes quite simply a superb sight as those present on the 12th January 2006 would I am sure agree.
