A merged view of the eastern end of Montpelier railway station in Bristol, with the western portal of the Montpelier tunnel in the background. The station currently has just a single operational platform on a bidirectional track, but formerly had two platforms on a double track railway.

The footbridge at Montpelier station on the Severn beach Line in Bristol. There is no evidence of where the access to the now disused eastbound platform would be, so I assume that this bridge was constructed after the line had been singled.

Looking north along the footbridge at Montpelier station on the Severn beach Line in Bristol. There is no evidence of where the access to the now disused eastbound platform would be (the stairs with the yellow handrail in the foreground lead to the former westbound, and now only, platform), so I assume that this bridge was constructed after the line had been singled.

A merged view of the very western end of the former eastbound platform at Monpelier railway station on the Severn Beach Line in Bristol, viewed from the back of a small courtyard of houses off Station Road. As the former eastbound platform is so much longer than the in-use former westbound one, I presume the latter has been significantly shortened.

A merged view of the back of the sole in use platform (formerly the westbound platform) at Montpelier railway station on the Severn Beach Line in Bristol. The masonry here suggests that there was either a building or a much more substantial bridge here previously.

A merged view of Station Road outside the southern entrance to Montpelier railway station in Bristol. The new houses on the right are almost certainly built on the site of the former station goods yard.
