Class 14 branch line freight locomotive D9502 was one of 56 built by Swindon Works in 1964/5. The class had extremely short lives on BR as the trip work for which they were designed was eliminated under the Beeching Report. Most of the class were sold for industrial use, and a number have since been preserved including D9502 at the South Yorkshire Railway.
