Peak Rail, Darley Dale Station Easter 1999. "68012", Bagnall 2746 of 1944, arrives with a train from Rowsley South. The loco is not a real BR J94 class, but an identical ex-NCB machine, formerly at Prince of Wales Colliery, Pontefract.

Peak Rail, Darley Dale Station, May 1999. "68012" departs for Matlock. This loco was built by Bagnall (2746) in 1944 for the War Department as 75158, later 144. Sold by the War
Department in 1965 to the National Coal Board it worked at Prince of Wales and Ackton Hall collieries before preservation in 1983. Both the WD and the NCB stored the loco for longish periods, so Peak Rail
gained a "low-mileage" asset. Despite the identity WB2746 never worked for British Railways. The "real" 68012 was Hunslet 3174 of 1944, WD 75124, an almost identical loco.
