Paignton & Dartmouth Railway. GWR 4588 2-6-2T at Paignton in the late afternoon sun in June 1973. The front end of a class 45/46 Peak is just visible in the BR platform on the right hand side of the photo.
Some of the steam era infrastructure still existed on the BR line including signal box, crossing gates and ex-GWR low quadrant signals.

Paignton & Dartmouth Railway. 4-6-0 7827 "Lydham Manor" in June 1973 runs around its train at Kingswear Station on a damp Sunday morning. An interesting fact that I noted at the time: the tender carried a 1913 builders plate, while the locomotive was built in 1950. So, two world wars separated the construction of locomotive and tender.
