An Autumn view of London Underground's Buckhurst Hill Staion on the Central Line. Its steam day origins are still very evident and I would go as far as to say that the station still retains considerable 'rustic charm'...quite something in todays modern world. Date is October 28th 2004.

In 1908 the companies operating London's Underground trains agreed to have just one symbol to represent all the different lines. The famous iconic Roundel we know today however did not start to appear until the early 1920s.

This modern version at Embankment station on the Circle & District Line has an attractive silver border and was Pictured in November 2008
