The platforms at Clapham Common tube station on the Northern Line. There is no optial illusion here, the platform really is this narrow! The train on the left is a southbound service while that on the right is heading northbound.

The platforms at Clapham Common tube station on the Northern Line. There is no optial illusion here, the platform really is this narrow! The lefthand platform is for southbound services, northbound trains call at the righthand one. This, and Clapham North tube station, are I beleive the only ones on the network left to this design. Angel tube station, also on the Northern Line, was formerlly to this design but rebuilt in the 1990s; a new northbound tunnel was bored and the southbound platform extended over the former northbound track making it unusually wide.
