New signalling equipment will make it impossible fot the 1938 stock to operate on the Jubilee Line
shortly so this special heritage run was organised. The northern section of the Jubilee Line was
once part of the Bakerloo Line where these classic Tube trans would have been seen.

Looking south from the northern end of Dollis Hill station on London Underground's Jubilee Line, where a northbound 1996 tube stock train is currently waiting. This station was designed for sub-subsurface gauge Metropolitan Line trains, hence the train looks particularly squat and the step down from the platform to the train.

HISTORY. Well Jubilee Line 1983 stock certainly is! Not one of the most successful designs with various electrical
problems and unsuitable single leaf doors for deep tunnel stock. As a result they had a relatively short life with the
last one being withdrawn in 1998. These two coaches however have survived as art studios and can now be seen
high above the ground in Great Eastern Street London. Pictured on September 24th 2007.

HISTORY. Now when did you last see a tube train on top of a massage parlour...well almost! These
two Jubilee Line 1983 stock coaches are not just perched anywhere though but are on a viaduct that
once carried trains into Broad Street Station that closed in 1986 and was located next to
London's Liverpool Street terminus. Pictured on the 24th September 2007 they are now used as
art studios.
