A London Underground C-stock EMU on the Hammersmith & City Line approaches Royal Oak station. The front of the train destination indicator shows "Circle Line", meaning this train is probably fresh out of the depot and will form a Circle Line service once it reaches Edgware Road tube station. The Circle and Hammersmith & City Lines are run as one operational entity by London Underground. This photograph was taken from the window of a passing First Great Western HST en route to London Paddington.

A London Underground 'C'stock strain in a unique "Back the Bid" (for the 2012 Summer Olympics arrives into Wimbledon Station with a District line service on 24 October 2005.
Despite the photograph being taken over 3 months since the announcement that London had won the bid for the Olympics, the train has still not been repainted into the normal corporate livery - unlike the Jubilee Line 1996-stock train that was similarly liveried. The reason for this is apparently due to a shortage of spare C stock trains following the 7 July London bombings, as the trains have not yet (as of 12 Novmber 2005) been released by the police investigating the attacks.
