Isle of Wight rolling stock, 3TIS units originally built for London Electric Railway (Underground) 1923 to 1931. Operating with class 485 (4VEC) units as 7-car trains.

Class 486. EMU units 031 (left) and 032 also known as 3-TIS units each stand at the head of a 7 coach train formed with unidentified class 485 units 4-VEC. 7 coach trains were thus 7-VECTIS, VECTIS being the Roman name for the Isle of Wight. A BR ferry can be seen docked at the end of the Pier. Ryde Pier Station in June 1973.

These were the first IOW 3rd rail electrics and were introduced in 1967 rebuilt from, London Transport tube stock built between 1923 & 1935.
