Juniper 460 of Gatwick Express seen upon short turnaround at London-Victoria.
These units operate a clockface service (15-min interval) to Gatwick Airport against fast services of South Central Trains. This is the Driving/Luggage Trailer. The luggage van is used to carry luggage checked-in at Victoria, but this facility has been suspended in the aftermath of 09/11. There is also a small lounge for First Class passengers at the other end. These units have been nicknamed "Darth Vader", owing to their unusual end face... One can spot a Class 377 Electrostar of South Central Trains on the left. 09th December 2003. P.L.Guillemin (plguillemin@yahoo.fr) |

Its always good to have the opportunity to picture the old alongside the new and this is no exception. A Slam Door in the form of a Cig
and a new Gatex 460 unit provide the comparison. Both derilict Battersea Power station and the blue sky
with a nice scattering of white fluffy clouds combine to make the picture which was taken on the 20th Ju;y 2005.
