on the 3rd March 2005. The red nameplate 'The Olympian' can be seen on the side.

This is quite possibly the first picture of this loco on the move in this livery. 87012 is pictured here at the next
station Queens Park soon after leaving the cover of Willesden Depot for its short journey to London Euston on the
25th February 2005 for its official naming.

This is one of the most unusual liveries to be seen on this Class of Loco. 'Network South East' colours
were never carried by class 87s...one class 86 was put into original NSE...but this one 87012 has been put into the
the second version as part of London's bid for the 2012 Olympics. An appropriate change to the text
on the side of the loco has therefore been made to mark this. Pictured at Euston on the 25th February 2005.

Although 87012 is in NSE colours, in place of 'Network South East' along the side is
'Back the Bid London 2012'. Pictured at Euston on the 25th February 2005 shortly before
being named 'The Olympian'.

Although this might appear to be a Virgin West Coast train it has infact been
hired in by Silverlink County to form a 'Cobbler' service to Northampton...known
for the manufacture of shoes. In charge is 87012 in NSE 'Back the Bid' livery
but this loco hauled train is not due to run much longer as it will be
replaced by new class 350 EMUs. The place is Carpenders Park and the date is
June 8th 2005. The good news is that like 87019...87012 has since joined the GBRf loco fleet.
