Class 05 shunter D2554 was transferred to the Isle of Wight in 1966, and thus managed to outlast the rest of the class by 15 years. It is now preserved at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Photo by David Root <u95dr1@ecs.ox.ac.uk>

D2554 was built in the mid 1950s and later became a class 05. This loco first arrived on the IoW in 1966 to help with the electrification of the line and joined the Steam Railway in 1984. It is known as 'Nuclear Fred'. Also visible is an Andrew Barclay 0-4-0 shunter built in 1945 thats unofficially named 'Mavis'. Isle of Wight Steam Railway August 30th 2003.
