Scotrail's 170 410 was involved in a driver-training run from Perth to Inverness on Friday, 22 September, 2000. The train stops at Aviemore and has the words 'Test Train' displayed on the destination indicator. The driver training for 170 traction knowledge had been going on all summer, with Perth drivers gaining traction knowledge in preparation for the introduction of Turbostars to Inverness in the Winter 2000/01 timetable. Class 170 in ScotRail livery seen at Linlithgow on a Glasgow - Edinburgh service. This service when worked with Class 47/7's were normally non-stop, now the service, taking slightly less time, stops twice en route.

Not what you expect to see at Stratford...a Scotrail class 170 DMU in full branding! Due to recent
franchise changes some units are moving around and this is why one has turned up here. It will re-appear
shortly from nearby Ilford Depot looking a little different. Its a first for us and the date is March 16th 2005.
