daw-16-hst-vir-jp.jpg (144511 bytes)

A Virgin HST is seen running along the Dawlish sea wall on Saturday 4th July 2002. Note the power car is one a few that had buffers fitted when operating as a stop-gap DVT on the East Coast Main Line in the late 1980s.

A good view of one the few HST power cars that had buffers added when they were used as DVTs for a while on the East Coast Main Line in the late 1980s. 43080 waits engine running at London Euston on the 25th October 2003.

eus-hst-hst-vir-jp.jpg (96225 bytes)

Not for much longer will you be able to see this...two Virgin HST power cars side by side. Pendolinos are likely to take over the route from London to Holyhead the plan being that after they leave the wires at Crewe they will be 57 '3' hauled. This picture of the two different HST or class 43 types was taken at London Euston on the 25th October 2003.

eus-hst-reg-jp.jpg (97380 bytes)

With Virgin Cross Country no longer using HST sets since the end of September 2003 the only route Virgin HSTs can now be seen on is the London-Holyhead run which is operated by Virgin West Coast. 43094 clags away to itself as it awaits departure on the 25th October 2003.
