Interior of First Great Western Mark 3 Standard Class Carriage
This is the interior of a normal standard class Mark 3 (HST) carriage. The white antimaccasars have the words "Standard Class" written on them because people were assuming the entire train was first class after Firstgroup's "First (f)" branding started to appear. The light-grey box affixed to the central partition contains chemical light-sticks which can be activated if the lighting fails, or in the event of an accident. Interior of First Great Western Mark 3 Standard Class Carriage
These are the standard-class tables (and table-seats) on First Great Western HSTs. The IC70 seats are some of the most comfortable in the UK, and are almost as comfortable and spacious as some First Class seating on other trains. Note the airline-style "Emergency procedure" leaflet - onboard announcements encourage people to read them. Photo by Timothy Vince (le_random@yahoo.co.uk) |
