Class 67 003 being towed through Cardiff Central on 28 October 1999 in the direction of Bristol. These locomotives are intended to be used on the Diesel hauled Royal Mail services replacing the Class 47. They are designed to operate at a maximum speed of 125 mph and have a power output of 3300hp, they also have Electric Train Heat, so they could possible be used on Passenger working in an emergency. Well its not often you get 'skips' or class 67s comimg out of Liverpool Street but this train was of interest not just for that reason. This is the empty coaching stock move hauled by 67003 for the Sir Nicholas Winton train that had set off from Praha earlier in the week and had now arrived in London following its last leg from Harwich behind 60163 'Tornado'. The date for the completion of this historic journey was 4th September 2009.
