An Arriva Trains Wales Class 50 diesel locomotive in Cardiff Canton depot. On the left is one end of an Arriva-liveried Mark 2 coach, while an Arriva Trains Wales Class 158 DMU is in the background. This photograph was taken from the rear of the first carriage on a westbound First Great Western HST on a service from London Paddington to Swansea shortly after departing Cardiff Central (Caerdydd Canolog). This somewhat unusual convoy has a 'Fifty' followed by 37411 and two coaches heading west out of London in early March 2006 to S.Wales. This Class 50 along with the other Large Logo Loco will be employed on some local workings as and when required whilst 37411 will be be put to work on the Valley services which still requires a limited loco hauled weekday diagram despite moves to go over entirely to DMU operation.
