You do not so see that many old locos that have seen 'better days' around stations
so 47528 pictured at Doncaster on November 15th 2004 was quite
an unusual sight.

47826 is seen running Light Engine to Crewe at Preston. The loco has just worked the 09:20 Brighton to Edinburgh from Brighton to Preston. Taken in August 1998.

47826 crosses the impressive Largin viaduct, high above a Cornish forestry plantation on May 8, 2002 with the 1V50 0840 Glasgow Central to Penzance service. The train was hauled by a Class 86 as far as Preston.

Virgin long-range 47 848, still in Intercity livery, on a light engine move from Edinburgh Waverley via the Down South line, probably bound for Polmadie or Carstairs. This move is unusual because Virgin Crosscountry fleet is normally maintained at Craigentinny Depot, east of Edinburgh Waverley.

On the back of this charter to London Kings Cross is the only surviving class 47 in Intercity livery that is main line
approved 47826 'Springburn'. The loco will soon take out the empty stock and then return the charter north
later in the day...the 4th March 2006.

47812 is seen in INTERCITY 'Swallow' livery that originated in BR days of the late 1980s and was not that long ago a common sight
on express trains. It is seen here on a Virgin Cross Country service at Reading in 1999. The loco is still around taday...March 2004...
