On Saturday 19th February 2005 Pathfinder ran their 'Buffer Puffer' Tour around the London area taking
a pair of 37 4s to some very unlikely locations. Here we see 37416 heading north through Cheshunt with 37406 on the back.

37416 growls its way through Cheshunt heading for Herford East on the 19th February 2005.
We took a run behind this loco way back in 1997...and we do not think we have seen it
since that day!

This is almost certainly a first...a 37 4 at the stops at Hertford East. Not only that but
37416 is a somewhat special loco in that it is one of only two in this livery that are
currently used on the Royal Scotsman Charter train. The date is February 19th 2005.

Some random railtour running through the disused Rutherglen old platform (on the mainline) with LNWR-coloured Mk.IIa stock behind class 37/4s, including the Royal Scotsman loco 37428 which had been displaced from its dedicated duties by this time due to unreliability. 16 September 2000 at around 1345 hours. The train later left double-headed by two Hymek's. Alex Lu, lexcie@innocent.com, http://www.lexcie.zetnet.co.uk/ |
37403 a long time out of service. It also carries its original number D6607. Between these two numbers it was 37307. Margam, 29th July 2005. Colin Baker (lokfuehrer@ntlworld.com)

In torrential rain, class 37s 37401 and 37417 pause at
Dyce with an excursion from Aberdeen to Kyle of Lochalsh
on Sunday 28 August 2005. The locomotives were
disappointingly scruffy and begrimed and are said to
be close to withdrawal.

37401 named 'The Royal Scotsman' after the charter train it hauls is seen at Didcot Parkway in Spring 2002. This is one of only two class 37s painted into this livery, and has only recently returned to traffic following flood damage last Autumn.

A quite amazing sight! 37416 slowly approaches the stops on platform 3 at Chingford
with the 'Buffer Puffer Tour' on Saturday 19th February 2005. Who would have thought
that a 37 4 would have made it here...let alone this particular Royal Scotsman loco.
