locomotive was seen shunting in the depot sidings.

Class 31 108 'Skin Head' seen at Butterly depot on 23 June 2000 this
sub-class was called 'Skin Heads' due to the lack of route indicator
box on their roof. This example made it's debut at the Diesel weekend
on 24 June 2000.

During a visit to Yorkshire a few hours were spent at Leeds BR station. The year was probably 1989.
As it happenned things were particularly interesting. DMU failures were clearly causing a problem and as a result
locos...such as 31171 in Railfrieght Grey...were brought in to haul them.

31171 hauls the failed DMU out of Leeds Station on a local service in 1989...we think.
