The middle and rear of the rake of 12 coaches hauled by SR Bulleid ‘Battle of Britain’ 4-6-2 No 34067 Tangmere on a special charter service from London Paddington. The rake, not all of which is visible in this photo, comprises a chocolate and cream mark I (I think) support coach, 1 mark II and 8 mark I maroon passenger coaches. I presume that at least one of the last three coaches is a support coach, but I don't know. At the very back of the consist is Fragonset-liveries Class 47 diesel loco 47007 Hermes, which was only there in case of incident on the mainline and was not providing any motive power.
This photo was taken at Bishops Lydeard station on the West Somerset Railway where the carter service paused, and BR Standard Class 4 2-6-0 No. 76009 (really 76079) was added to the front to double-head the train with Tangmere for the rest of the way to Minehead. The Class 47 was also detached, and moved to the siding at Bisophs Lydeard hidden behind the signal box in this view.

King Edward VII's royal coach stands in Glasgow's Transport Museum. It was built in 1947 for a special rail trip to Edinburgh from London and I believe was only used on that one trip. It has all the features a standard British Home has like a telephone, a television, beds and storage spaces.
There was a sign that said "On loan from National Railway Museum, York" but it has been up here for a good few years now.
Taken on Friday 12th August 2005.

From memory a poster inside stated that this Gresley coach was the last of its type
to remain in service...possibly until the mid 1970's..and was also painted into Blue Grey.
