The girl in First Class blew a kiss at me as her train drew past at around 5mph, signal check at Tring as our train sat on the fast line blocking it, so all the traffic overloaded the down slow.

Interiors of a Mk3 First-Class/Restaurant/Buffet car (TRFB) of Anglia, seen at London-Liverpool Street, awaiting departure to Norwich.
These are the only Mk3 cars operated by Anglia, and they run with Mk2s on on Anglia flagship service between London and Norwich, and also on the Boat Trains to Harwich International (for Hoek van Holland, The Netherlands).

The last refurbishment took place in 1997-98, shortly after Virgin took over the Intercity West Coast franchise. Mk3 First-Class/Buffet car (TFB) of Virgin West Coast, seen at London-Euston, awaiting departure to Liverpool Lime Street. Pendolini 390s are currently replacing those cars, which date back to the mid-80s. In BR days, these cars used to run as restaurant cars available to passengers of both classes. Since then, the Restaurant service has been dropped and replaced by at-seat service in First Class, included in the fare.
