A Dakota on French track! SNCF Class Cc65500 diesels were called by their crews Dakotas because of their DC/3 like windows. TSO had purchased two Cadoux-Decauville type Y 2300 diesel shunters from French army (Groupe 2 de l'Etamat de Gien, Auneau), ex Army n° B 400064 and B 400066 (this last for spare). Diesel work train is passing Poissy GC, on the way to Achères. During track renewal, between Marly and St Nom, Western Great Belt of Paris was reopened for a short moment, from St Nom to St Germain, so as to allow work trains to provide materials without disturbing passengers traffic from Paris to Marly.

The good news is that more class 58s are returning to traffic...the bad news is that
its in France making it hard for British enthusiasts to see this popular class in
action again. These two...58049 and mostly hidden 58050 are to start work for a French
operator TSO and were at Stratford Depot on the 4th November 2004 for wheel turning.
