This set was formed in late-1991 with:

• 3 newly-built double-deck trailers; and
• The 2nd-class end-trailer of TGV PSE set No 70, remodelled as a lab; and
• 2 TGV Atlantique power-cars: 1 from set No 370 + 1 spare, then 2 from set No 330 (with TGV Réseau high-power brakes).
Later on, these were replaced with those from TGV Réseau set No 502.

This prototype ran trials until 1994, at up to 350km/h.

In 1995, the power-cars returned to revenue service, while the trailers were stabled.
