SNCF 2D2-5516, DC electric locomotive with Buchli drive, built 1933 for the electrification of Orléans - Tours. Originally delivered as PO 2D2 E 516, as one of 35 series locomotives (E 503 to 537, later 5503 to 5537) following the successful prototypes E 501 and 502 (later 5501 and 5502) of 1926. They were followed by the E 538 to 545 (later 5538 to 5545) "femmes enceintes" with rounded front design, then the 5546 to 5550 "Waterman". With these locomotives, the electric traction began replacing steam on French express trains. The last 2D2 went out of service in 1980. The 2D2 5516 went 7433209 km in active service. Length 17.78 m, weight 141 t, speed 140 km/h.
