These DMUs are part of a fleet of 15 units, paid for by Région Basse-Normandie in 1998/99, with a view to revamping Paris-Granville services. 
<p>
Being vested in TIR, these are thence devoid of any TER/Regional stickers, and classified as AGL (for "Automoteur Grandes Lignes"), unlike Class 72500s vested in SNCF-AR (i.e. X-TER).
