Experimental Jet Train TGS ("Turbine à Gaz Spéciale").

This set was formed with:

• a power car from a Class 4300 DMU (X-4365);
• a trailer from a Class 4500 DMU (XR-8579).

Whereas the former (TA-101) retained its original Poyaud engine (330kW) and mechanical transmission, the later (TAD-102) was remodelled with a Turmo III C3 turbine (810kW) and hydraulic transmission.
Both cars got new bogies (Y214), with high-power brakes.

TGS ran various trials from 1967 to 1972, primarily to develop Mk1 Jet Trains (ETG). It eventually ran at 252km/h on 15th October 1971.
In 1974, it went through an extensive refurbishment for VIP services, and was re-liveried to RTG standards. It unfortunately quit service in 1984, and was scrapped in 1990.

The power car on this pic is TAD-102.
