SNCF Diesel 1 72148 
The first one of the type 72100 is 172148. It arises from 72048. A new motor is intended  to  to improve the insertion of heavy diesels in the urban environment, notably in  Paris  Gare  de l'Est. 
The innovations brought to this protype are, besides its livery, which seems temporary, the following ones: 
new engine 16PA4 V200. 3600 hp 
Equipment with a programmable machine already experimented on 72084. This engine should reduce the harmful discharges in the atmosphere. 
These modifications were made by the workshop of Sotteville Quatre Mares. 
The photo represents the machine on July 31st, 2002 at 3:50 pm, approaching the station of  Poissy, while it made a trial course between Sotteville and Batignolles, at the head of coaches V2N chosen by the only fact of their availability.
