Refurbished First/Second-class car of a V2N (Voitures à 2 Niveaux) trainset, seen at Paris-Gare de Lyon upon turnaround.
These cars were introduced in 1992-93 on fast or semi-fast "long-distance commuter" services of SNCF TER, such as Paris-Laroche Migennes, Paris-Rouen, Paris-Amiens and Paris-Compiègne. Refurbishment has been under way since 2002. The livery is that applied to new or newly-refurbished TER rolling-stock. Carbodies are identical to those of Intermediate Trailers of Mk2 Z2Ns (Z20500s, Z20900s and Z92500s). 30th December 2003. P.L.Guillemin (plguillemin@yahoo.fr) |

Photo of a V2N, double-decker car. These cars can be pushed by a locomotive, BB 16100 for AC and BB 9700 for DC, that's why there is a driving cab. The maximum speed of these comfortable cars is 160km/h (=100 Mph), pushed or pulled. Photo taken from a video film of mine, that's why the quality is poorest than with a "normal" photo.
