Grand Confort generator car on one end of «Le Capitôle du matin», being refueled. The SNCF TEE cars were built with 380 V, 50 Hz 3-phase AC supply, which simplified the equipment of each car, but required a generator car. The advantage is that you can pull these trains with all locomotives, regardless of HEP capability.
You can also see the slightly slanted sidewalls of the Grand Confort cars, which were prepared for tilting (but a tilting system was never installed).
