Refurbished 1st-class Corail open-room (A10tu) car (VTU-82) of SNCF-Action Régionale (TER Rhône-Alpes), seen in the consist of TER 17713 (Dijon Ville-Marseille St Charles).
This is actually an ex-A4t4u "Nouvelle Première". It would run as such on Paris-Strasburg (1985/87), then as "Espace Affaires" on Paris-Nantes (1987/89). In the early-90s, it was marketed as "Fedora", for charter services. In 1996, it was eventually remodelled to run on TER Rhône-Alpes fast services (primarily on Lyons-Grenoble). As it belongs to the very first batch of refurbished Corail cars for TER Rhône-Alpes, its livery is that of Interloire cars. Dijon-Ville. 14th August 2004. P.L.Guillemin (plguillemin@yahoo.fr) |

This car was rebuilt from a former A4t4u (VTU-82) "Nouvelle Première" in 1996. Whereas its layout is primarily open-room, it actually consists of 3 different areas:
•2 saloons at each end (17 seats each), with conventional seats from older 1st-class Corail cars (A10tu, VTU-75 or 78);
Whereas covers and carpeting are distinctly worn out as a result of 10 years'intensive use, ambience is quite pleasant. 12th November 2005.
