1st-class Corail compartment-car (A10u) (50 87 10-74 004-6) of SNCF, still in original condition, seen upon arrival at Lyon-Part Dieu, on TER 17672 from Grenobles.
This car belongs to the second order for Corail compartment-cars (VU-78). It features 1 more compartment than A9u (VU-75) cars. Yet, the carbody is the same as that for 8-seat, 2nd-class compartment cars, with 2.867m instead of 2.825m. This car used to run for quite many years on TER services between Belfort, Besançon and Dijon. Hence the little "TER Franche-Comté" old-style label which one spot see down the toilet-window. It has now passed to Région Rhône-Alpes and is due for refurbishment. Lyon-Part Dieu. 24th June 2004. Interiors of a 1st-class Corail compartment-car (A10u) (VU-78), still in original condition.
Ambiance doubtless smacks of the 70s, and is very close to that of A9u cars (VU-75). Sadly, yellow anti-macassars have gone... Lyon-Part Dieu. 3rd October 2004.

1st-class Corail compartment-car (A10u) (VU-78).
Extra width (2.867m instead of 2.825m on A9u and A4B6u cars) is not that visible here...
