Light freight locomotive "Ukko-Pekka" Tk3 number 852 is seen in Pieksämäki. No less than 38 of the 161 built have been preserved, but only 2 of the first series (800-899) built in 1927-1930. The second series (1100-1118/1129-1170) was built in/after the Second World War from 1943 to 1953.

This picture is not taken in Scandinavia as this loco is in fact now on display at Ongar, Essex in the U.K. Yes this is a Finnish steamer...a class TK3 we think Number 1134. Standing on a specially construced Finnish gauge section of track at the Epping Ongar Railway's Ongar Station it certainly makes a very unusual sight. This loco is unlikely to return to steam operation but merely photographic opportunities will make it and other Finnish steam locos a welcomed attraction. Pictured on May 16th 2004.
