VR - Finland Between 1954 and 1963 Valmet built 197 diesel motor cars class Dm7 for services on regional lines. Around 20 are preserved by Finnish museum railway associations and number 4020, the first of the class, can be seen in the National Railway Museum. VR - Finland Class Ds1 was the first motor car class of the Finnish railways. It was built in 1928 by Pasila workshop using parts from Sweden. In total 3 were built and the last was withdrawn in 1955, being replaced by class Dm7 diesel motor cars. Number 1 is preserved in the National Railway Museum. VR - Finland Class Dr13 were the fastest and most powerful diesel locomotives of VR. Alst(h)om built the first 2 in France in 1954, after which Lokomo and Valmet built another 52. The last locomotives were withdrawn from active service in the year 2000. Number 2349 is preserved in working order by the National Railway Museum. VR - Finland Class Dv16 is a class of relatively modern diesel shunters, built from 1962 and the last ones were withdrawn in 2008. 28 were built, and number 2026 is preserved in working order by the National Railway Museum. VR - Finland Passenger steam locomotive class Hv1 number 555 was built in 1915 by Tampella. 42 of the class were built and they were used throughout Finland. Suomen Rautatiemuseo - Finland Steam locomotive A5 number 58 was built by the Finnish Railways workshop in Helsinki in 1875. Only 2 were built. It was used for hauling passenger trains
in the south of Finland until the 1920s.

VR - Finland Heavy freight steam locomotive class Tr2 number 1319 was built in 1947 by ALCO in the USA. VR bought 20 that were originally intended for the Soviet Union. VR - Finland Class Vk3 was originally built as class I3 by Tampella in 1906-1909 (7x). Originally used for local transport, they were used from the mid-1920s as shunters. VR - Finland Steam tank locomotive for local passenger trains Pr1 number 776 was built in 1926 by Tampella. In total 16 were built for commuter trains around Helsinki. VR - Finland Steam shunting locomotive class Vr1 number 669 was buit by HANOMAG in Germany in 1923. Between 1913 and 1927 43 similar locomotives were built by both HANOMAG and Tampella.
