Madrid-Atocha station, seen at some time in Spring 1989 during its reconstruction into Madrid-Puerta de Atocha, under the Madrid-Sevilla HSL project.
This pic is looking towards the South, opposite the old station building.
While that station had closed on 24th September 1988, ex-MZA signalling and old catenary masts were still in place in Spring 1989, but tracks were already being lifted.
The pic was taken from a point now forming part of a UIC-gauge platform of Madrid-Puerta de Atocha.
One can see a Class 440 EMU (in blue/yellow original livery) in the background, running on the tracks for Madrid-Atocha Cercanias.
