The Talgo 350 prototype is only a half of a normal trainset, having one motor car and 6 trailers, of classic Talgo design. It is ready to leave Montagut base, near Lerida, for a test run. Tests have begun with the Talgo 350 trainset prototype, on a section of the new Madrid – Barcelona high speed line. Since the catenary in Montagut zone is still not under tension, the Talgo 350 is pushed at full speed (100 km/h), in a cloud of smoke, to the test section, by a romanian 060-DA diesel locomotive. It reminds of the tests of TGV trainset nr. 16 in 1981, when it was hauled to the test track by a CC 65500 locomotive (former SNCF… 060-DA Class !).
