Vall de Nuria rack railway (Spain). Opened in 1931, this railway run for 12,5 kilometers from Ribes de Freser (altitude 905 meters) to Vall de Nuria (altitude 2000 meters). One meter gauge. 1500 Volts DC. Electric dual unit entering Queralbs station. Build by SLM/BBC/MTM in 1985. Power 720 Kw. Weight 65 T. The start of the rack section is between Ribes and Queralbs. It has a maximum gradient of 15%. April 1997.

The modern snowplow L.09 made by Stadler and SLM has a capacity to evacuate 800 snow tons per hour. This snowplow has to be towed by a locomotive, usually the D9. 23/2/98
