Madrid's Metro – Old station of Chamberi (line 1), now part of the Metro museum. Old logo; quite similar to the one used nowadays; the only difference is that now you won't find the name of the station, but only the word 'Metro' inside the blue square. Chamberi is on the line 1 of Madrid's Metro network; trains still pass by but it's been closed for more than 40 years, when the platforms of the whole line were extended to fit 6-car trains. It was too close to the stations in both directions of the line, so it was decided that it would be a waste of resources to extend its platforms having stations that close to it, and closed. It's the only closed station of the network, and in the last few years it was cleaned and restored, becoming part of the Metro interpretation centre. Photo by Alberto Rueda (ad.rueda@gmail.com)
