Class 445 Prototype EMU, seen at Barcelona-El Prat station (for the Airport). This prototype was designed as a Mk2 Class 440 tailored for Commuter duties and would have been the very first unit of a large class which was to revamp Cercanias services. Persistent reliability concerns eventually led RENFE to reconsider its plans in the late-80s and to opt for Class 446s, instead. Barcelona-El Prat. 1985.
