This station was built to serve the Expo'92 only, and thence closed down in October 1992.

It had 2 standard-gauge and 2 broad-gauge tracks, all with 3kV DC.

Only 1 AVE service would actually connect this station with Madrid (running fast, not even calling at Sevilla-Santa Justa).
