Class 252 (252 007) of RENFE-AVE (Standard-gauge, 3kV DC+ 25kV-50Hz AC) seen at the gauge-changer (Talgo RD-only) of Cordoba-Valchillon, where the Madrid-Sevilla HSL connects with the Cordoba-Malaga conventional line.

This loco is heading a Talgo 200 service from Malaga (or Fuengirola) to Madrid-Puerta de Atocha.

The rear cars are on broad-gauge tracks and are still to pass through the gauge-changer.
<p>
Apart than Madrid-Malaga Talgo 200 services (of RENFE-AVE), this gauge-changer also accommodates the Madrid-Algeciras Altaria (of RENFE-GL). Pre-2000, the Barcelona-Malaga sleeper through-cars also used it.
<p>
Up to 10 services use each way this facility on a daily basis.
