Madrid-Atocha station, seen in its last months of pre-AVE life.
From the left to the right:
Class 440 EMU in original livery (blue/yellow), on some Regional service;
Class 352 Diesel (in original condition), with a Talgo III service
Class 597 DMU with a new yellow livery on a long-distance Regional service (TER)
These were the days, with ex-MZA signalling and the Trainshed accommodating trains...
The pic was taken from a point now forming part of the front platform of Puerta de Atocha.
This station closed on 24th September 1988 in order to be rebuilt (almost) from scratch as Puerta de Atocha, under the Madrid-Sevilla HSL project.
