Madrid-Atocha station, seen on its very last day of pre-AVE life.

Until its very end, this station retained its Railway Museum aspect, with old ex-MZA signalling.

One can notice a Class 321, in original livery.

The Class 352 Talgo Diesel is diagrammed on the Madrid-Almeria/Granada service, leaving between 02.00pm and 03.00pm. This loco got new, smaller, yet debatable front glasses...

The pic was taken from a point now forming part of the standard-gauge tracks of Puerta de Atocha.

In the evening of that day, this station was closed in order to be rebuilt (almost) from scratch as Puerta de Atocha, under the Madrid-Sevilla HSL project.
