Class 597 (ex-9700) TER "Tren Español Rápido" DMU, seen on the "Mare Nostrum" (Portbou-Alicante) in a morning of the late-60s, somewhere close to Massanes (now Maçanet).
Back then, Barcelona-Cerbère was the most modern line of RENFE: newly-electrified (1964) and fully double-tracked (1967), with long, welded new rails UIC 46 or 54, cleared for 140kph-87mph on half of its mileage...
