Would-be AVE-120s (variable-gauge, 250kph, Mainline traffic) will have a very close outer aspect.

TRD 598s will run on fast regional services, primarily on routes already served with TRD 594s, which will be themselves displaced somewhere else.
<p>

These are probably the last DMUs ever ordered by RENFE.
