Talgo 73 "Catalan-Talgo" (Barcelona Sants->Montpellier St Roch), seen being coupled with the Class 311 which is to shunt this formation until the gauge-changer...

WATCH OUT: if you intend to make a similar pic, or merely to spot this very early stage of the gauge-changing process, please make sure that you are close enough to a vestibule, so as to step back into the train ASAP.

As in any other RENFE/ADIF station, there is indeed no genuine departure announcement.
Well, there is kinda announcement, yet played when the train actually grins to a halt in this station, in a pretty equivocal way ("Next Departure: Talgo to Montpellier, Track 1, calling at Cerbčre"), meaning that once the coupling is complete, the formation leaves almost immediately to the gauge-changer...

On that day, the train even left 1min ahead of the scheduled time...

Portbou (Spanish sector).

22nd February 2005.
