This slamming-door denotes of older times, as the lack of central locking.
One had to wait until as late as 1991 to see automatic, plugging-doors on Talgo stock (daytime Talgo 6).

Outer route panel of a Talgo III-RD, diagrammed on Talgo 72 "Catalan-Talgo" (Barcelona Sants-Montpelliers).
Not really up-to-date from a technical point of view, but complete and accurate, though.
This car had not yet gone through the regeneration program carried out 2003, hence the rust embedded around the rivets...

IC 71 "Catalan-Talgo" (Geneva-Barcelona), seen at the gauge-changer in Portbou, at around 06.15pm.
This class 7200 of SNCF has just pushed the Talgo III-RD set from Cerbère through the gauge-changer, until enough cars have switched to broad-gauge (1668mm-5ft6in) so that the Spanish loco (a Class 269 in Mazinger livery) can take it over until Barcelona. The very rear cars are still on standard-gauge track (1435mm-4ft8in), and will change track-gauges once the Spanish loco begins to haul the whole set. August 1985.
